Frequently Asked Questions

How does noise cancelling work?

ANC uses microphones to detect ambient sound and generates an opposite sound wave to cancel it. It works best on steady, low-frequency noise like engines and hums.

Does ANC hurt sound quality?

On good headphones, no — modern ANC preserves audio quality. On very cheap models, aggressive ANC can add a slight hiss or thin the sound, so read reviews.

Do I need premium ANC headphones?

Not necessarily — budget models like the Soundcore Q20i offer strong noise cancelling and sound. Premium models add refinement, but great quiet is affordable now.

What’s transparency mode?

It uses the mics to pipe outside sound in, so you can hear announcements or conversations without taking the headphones off — handy in transit and offices.

Final Thoughts

Great noise cancelling headphones bring calm and focus wherever you go. Start with a high-value pick like the Soundcore Q20i or Sony WH-CH720N — look for hybrid ANC, good battery, and comfort, and enjoy the quiet on your next commute or flight.
